Rice cereal, dried apricots, peanuts, and rolled oats are just a few of the healthy ingredients in these quick-bake snacks.
Join Diego's amazing rescues every day on Nick Jr.
Line a few plastic airtight food containers with wax paper. You can fold or cut the paper to make it fit. Prepare an equal number of wax paper sheets of the same size (you’ll use these later when storing the nutty bites).
Kids can help measure out the oats, cereal, apricots, and peanuts, and combine in a medium bowl. Mix with a big spoon.
Adults can combine the brown sugar, corn syrup, peanut butter, and chips in a small saucepan. Cook the mixture over medium heat. Stir constantly, until it comes to a boil, and then pour over the oat mixture and stir together.
When the mixture is cool enough to handle, shape it into 1-1/2 inch balls using lightly greased hands.
Place the balls in the airtight containers and cover with the extra sheets of wax paper. Nutty bites can be stored for up to three weeks.
