Nothing beats a cupcake except a cupcake surrounded by chocolate coins! Pop Dora's Pirate Cookie Pops in cupcakes with shining treasures!
New explorations 6/3 & 6/5 @ 10AM ET/PT on NICK
Preheat the oven to 350°F. Line 24 cupcake pan cups with paper liners. Prepare the cake mix according to package directions for cupcakes.
Bake until a toothpick inserted in the centers comes out clean, about 18 to 22 minutes. Transfer the cupcakes to a wire rack, invert, and cool completely.
Spread the chocolate frosting on top of each cupcake. Arrange the chocolate coins on top. Insert a cookie pop in the center of each cupcake.
To make treasure-chest-shaped cakes, bake the batter in 12 buttered and floured 2 1/4- by 4-inch loaf pans for 15 to 19 minutes. Frost with the chocolate frosting when cool. Pipe bands around the edges with yellow tube frosting. Garnish the plates with ground graham crackers, gold coins, and peach rings (to look like a chain).
