Place the corn flakes in a resealable bag. Use a rolling pin to crush the cereal into smaller pieces. Place the crushed cereal into a shallow bowl.
Combine the buttermilk, 1/2 teaspoon salt, 1/4 teaspoon pepper, and the hot sauce in a medium bowl. Add the chicken to the buttermilk mixture, tossing to coat. Let stand in the buttermilk for about 15 minutes.
Preheat oven to 375°F. Line a cookie sheet with foil.
Remove one drumstick from the buttermilk mixture, allowing the excess buttermilk to drain off. Roll the drumstick in the crushed cereal to coat evenly. Place the drumstick onto the prepared cookie sheet. Repeat with the remaining drumsticks and crumbs. Spray the drumsticks with the cooking spray to cover.
Place the drumsticks into the oven and bake until golden brown, crispy and cooked through, about 25 to 30 minutes. Transfer to a wire rack and cool slightly. Place the drumsticks in a basket or serving platter.
