Ingredients

Supplies

  • Wooden skewers
Tip: If you're feeling adventurous, you can toast the cubed bread in a pan with a little olive oil and some sliced garlic for extra zip in your skewer!

Directions

  1. Step 1

Adults can cut the cucumbers, peppers, mozzarella, and bread into 1-1/2 inch pieces. If you cut the cucumbers into thick slices first, kids can help by cutting them in half, using a cutting board and a plastic knife.

  2. Step 2

Your child can help you separate the ingredients and place them into small bowls. Let him pick the order in which you add the vegetable slices, bread cubes, mozzarella, and cherry tomatoes to the skewers. Kids can have a turn adding softer ingredients to the skewer; keep a close eye on them during this activity--the skewers have sharp ends!

  3. Step 3

Eat the kabobs on their own, or serve with our Backyardigans "Around the World" Sauces: Pesto Madness, Peach Tango Salsa, Spicy Asian Peanut Dip, and Creamy Curry Dip.

Tip: Make as many kabobs as you like to serve just one child, or an entire birthday party of hungry kids. Nutrition facts for this recipe are based on a 2-kabob serving size.
