Else Holmelund Minarik
Author of the Little Bear books, Else Holmelund Minarik turned to writing when, as a first-grade teacher, she could not find enough material for her pupils. The television series Little Bear is based on the five Little Bear books she wrote during that time. With Little Bear, Minarik has created a universal character whose world evokes childhood days of discovery, adventure, and love. She has written four other titles for children.
