Episode 102: Barbershop
Skills Developed:
Thinking & Reasoning
Creative Thinking
Imagination
In this episode David and Shane must listen to sounds in their environment to figure out where Shane needs to go to get a haircut. You can extend your child's reasoning skills at home by engaging in similar sound-identification activities.
Make up sound effects that relate to the place you and your child are going and see if your child can figure out your destination. If you are going to the park or playground, make the sound of birds chirping and the creaking sound of the swings. If you are going to walk, make the sound of footsteps. When your child figures out where you are going together, he can then make up his own sound effects for that location. This sound-identification game can enhance your child's deductive reasoning and creative-thinking skills and turn an ordinary trip into an imaginative adventure.
