Reading
Sign Language
You can build on your child's interest in reading by going on an Upside Down Show-style word search. Take out two pairs of imaginary binoculars and head out to find words! Say, "I think that sign up ahead says STOP, but I'm not sure. Let's check with our binoculars!" As you get closer to the sign, help your child to read it and sound out the letters together. Look for other words, and then investigate how to say them in sign language.
It's great to explore letters from all angles. Tilt your heads all the way down to one side as you look at a word together. Did someone press the upside down button?
