To help reinforce the lessons of The Upside Down Show, here are some play-at-home ideas based on each episode written by Anna Housley Juster, M.A., Director of Content for Sesame Street and The Upside Down Show.

Episode 109: Marching Band

Skills Developed:

  • Imagination
  • Thinking & Reasoning

  • At the end of this episode Shane and David give away many imaginary instruments. You can build your child's imagination and thinking skills by encouraging her to invent and play instruments of her own. Follow her lead--perhaps she wants to play an imaginary saxophone. Maybe she wants to create an entirely new instrument or a combination of instruments, such as a "drumpet."

Play along! Create a band together and march around your living room.
