Linny Egg

Use our egg templates as a pattern for Linny's fur and hat. We used felt, but you can use construction paper, or if you have it on hand, fun fur. His hat is made from a soda bottle cap. You can also use the twist-off cap from an orange juice carton.

What You Need
Large peach or tan plastic egg, about 3 1/2 inches tall
Egg templates
Scissors
Craft glue
Tan felt
Brown felt
Pink felt
Orange felt
White felt
Fine black marker
Plastic soda or orange juice twist-off cap
Brown craft foam or construction paper

What You Do

Step 1
For the fur: Using the printable egg templates, cut out the two "fur" pieces. Don't put any glue on the 'ear' area or the 'whisker' area. Kids can secure the fur pieces to the egg.

Step 2
For the face: From the brown felt, cut two small ovals for eyes. From the pink, cut a small pink triangle for the nose. For the inner ears, cut two white ear shapes. Have kids help glue on the pieces. When the glue is nearly dry, draw the "w-shaped" mouth.

Step 3
For the hat: Using the template, cut out one "hat" piece from orange felt. Glue to the top of the egg. Then, avoiding the hat's visor, smear glue on the orange circle shape. Press the twist-off cap onto the felt. Let dry.

Step 4
For the collar: From brown foam or construction paper, cut an 8- by 1-inch strip. Curl the strip into a circle, overlapping the ends, and staple or tape in place.
