Nickelodeon Central
Nickelodeon™ Central is the world's largest Nickelodeon theme park area for kids, and this 15-acre Nickelodeon playground is growing to become five times larger than before. It's loaded with more than 20 attractions that kids and their parents can enjoy together! Families can rub elbows with their favorite NickToons™ celebrities, dine at several eateries, and shop at the Nickelodeon Store.

There five newest attractions are:
  • Bondi Beach: Carowinds second wave pool, at 34,000 square feet with 275 feet of beach frontage, guests can both catch the sun rays, as well as the waves.
  • Dora's Sing-Along Adventure: Join Dora, Boots, and their friends as they go on a musical adventure based on the popular Nick Jr. show Dora the Explorer.
  • Meet the Nicktoons: It's time to meet all your favorite Nickelodeon characters! Every evening in the summer (June 7-August17, except Mondays) in Nickelodeon Central come see the Nicktoons.
  • Carowinds Endless Summer on Ice: This Ice show presents a salute to the summertime experience, beginning as soon as schools out up until the last few days of sun and fun, June 14-August 24, at The Carowinds Theater.
  • Boomerang Bay: The park's Aussome new water park just got even better! Besides the new Bondi Beach wave pool, the water park now features four additional pools, and a three-story water jungle gym with a 1,000-gallon drenching bucket. Sixteen acres of wet and wild fun await you and your family. (Water park open only in the summer.)

  • Nighthawk™ Flying Coaster
    Fly like a superhero as you ride the park's tallest roller coaster! The Carolina's first flying roller coaster has riders flying face down through eight inversions. Soar and zoom toward the ground just in time to turn skyward for the next inversion.

    Afterburn™ Spiral Coaster
    Hold on tight! This 32-passenger inverted steel coaster with floorless cars suspended below the track take's riders on an adventurous ride of twists and turns. The six inversions along the way include a space drop, a vertical loop, an immelman, a batwing, a flat spin, and finally into a spiral.

    Season runs from late May through October. Check the Web site for daily hours of operation.
